Net P/L after fees, with the trade count for each group.
Statistics use your recorded closed trades only. Currencies are kept separate. This journal does not connect to a broker or include open positions, deposits or withdrawals.
How to keep a
trading journal
Record the result and notes for each closed trade. Use your history to compare setups and review mistakes.
Download the Excel templateLog the result
Add the instrument, close date, direction and profit or loss shown by your broker. Choose whether that result already includes fees. Costs are deducted only when you select a result before fees.
Add your trade review
Give the trade a setup, such as “Pullback”. Attach a chart, mark whether you followed the plan, and tag mistakes. Save one lesson to return to when you review the month.
Review over time
Check the P/L calendar, average win and loss, and results by setup, instrument or plan review. A small sample can be misleading. A higher win rate alone does not mean a strategy is profitable.
Trading journal questions
Will my trades still be here when I come back?
Yes, in the same browser on the same device, as long as its site data remains available. Trades save automatically using browser storage. Clearing site data, using private browsing or browser storage removal can erase them. Download a backup regularly.
Can I use my journal on another device?
Download a backup, open this journal on the other device and choose “Restore backup”. There is no automatic sync or cloud recovery. Backups restore your trades, reviews and chart images. CSV exports contain text only. Existing trades are kept and matching records are skipped.
Does this work for forex, stocks and options?
You can record the realized cash profit or loss of any closed trade in a supported account currency. Enter the result from your broker. This journal does not calculate returns from entry prices, lot sizes, option premiums or contract multipliers.
Which CSV files can I import?
Choose a CSV and match its columns to close date, instrument, direction and profit or loss. Choose whether results already include fees, and check the date and number formats. Use one row per closed trade; this tool does not reconstruct positions from partial fills or orders. You can also use the downloadable template. Preview the file before confirming the import.
Who can see my trades?
The journal code stores trades on this device and does not send them to Quadcode. Anyone with access to this browser profile may be able to view them. Backup and CSV files contain your trade data, so store them somewhere private.
How are the statistics calculated?
Net P/L is gross profit or loss minus fees. Win rate is the number of trades with a positive net result divided by all selected closed trades, including flat results. Profit factor is the sum of positive net results divided by the absolute sum of negative net results. The curve adds daily net P/L in close-date order. Daily P/L drawdown measures the largest drop from a previous peak in that curve, starting at zero. It is not account equity drawdown.
